Welcome to Boreham & Sandon Royals FC

Welcome to Boreham & Sandon Royals FC — a club with over 50 years of history and tradition. Founded in 1973 by a group of friends who had graduated from youth football, the club began life as Great Baddow British Legion Royals FC, quickly becoming known as Baddow Royals. From our early days in the Mid Essex League the club has continued to grow, overcome challenges and remain true to its roots. We are proud of the many players, volunteers and supporters who have played their part in making the Royals what they are today.

The club has enjoyed many memorable successes along the way, including Essex Intermediate Senior Cup victories in 1996 and 2001, as well as numerous league and cup achievements. After a difficult period in 2012, the Royals rebuilt with a renewed sense of purpose, welcoming a new generation of players and returning to its original strength with two competitive sides. In June 2023, we relocated to Boreham, where we were warmly welcomed by the local community. Our first season in Boreham brought immediate success with the Premier Division Cup in 2024, followed by a remarkable 2024/25 season in which the First Team won the Mid Essex Premier Division and Dave Strachan Cup before returning to the Essex Olympian League in season 2025/26 after a 14-year absence.

Today, as we begin the 2026/27 season, we proudly enter a new chapter as Boreham & Sandon Royals FC, a name chosen to recognise and celebrate the warm welcome we have received from the village. Following a strong 2025/26 campaign, with the First Team finishing fourth in Essex Olympian League Division 3 North West and winning the Shepherd Neame Trophy, and the Reserves finishing runners-up in the Mid Essex League Division One, both sides now compete in the Essex Olympian League. We warmly welcome you and invite you to be part of a proud, ambitious and friendly club as we continue to build on more than five decades of Royals history.
